I am reading this series to my 2 five year old granddaughters. We have a 'grandma's reading club by phone' because I live in a different state. It is a nice way to connect with them. They are enjoying the books very much. The story is very sweet and totally relatable (real life situations). I specially appreciate the spiritual messages that are brought into it. As the characters face things ie., insecurity, jealousy, disappointment, etc, God's principles of dealing with them are developed throughout the story in a natural, real and valuable manner. Very good fiction for the young kids.

Love these stories! My daughter enjoyed them and passed them on to friends over the years. This new set is for my G'daughter! Fun wholesome characters...easy to tell who is making good choices.

I got these for my granddaughter. She is reading them for the second time since Christmas(one week)! She says they are great. I was looking for books with a Christian message. SCORE!

My granddaughter came to see me for a week. She's seven, and she read three of them. I like the clean, moral take on the stories. they're fun but teach good behavior. Needed today. :)

Abigail M. Judge, PhD, is a clinical and child and family forensic psychologist. Dr. Judge maintains a private practice in Cambridge, MA, is a Forensic Consultant at the Law and Psychiatry Service at Massachusetts General Hospital, and holds an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Judge provides psychotherapy, consultation, forensic evaluation, expert witness testimony, and reunification intervention. Robin M. Deutsch, Ph.D., ABPP, is a child and family forensic psychologist, board certified in couples and family practice. She is Director of the Center of Excellence for Children, Families and the Law at William James College in Newton, MA, where she developed the Certificate in Child and Family Forensic Issues and the Child and Family Evaluation Service. Good review of parental alienation issues, but not user friendly for average therapist. Advocates a particular program that is not readily accessed by most families. Nevertheless, it is a valuable resource for those interested in parental alienation and high conflict divorce.

The one redeeming quality of this book is that it mentions Craig Childress, which I am sure the authors regret in retrospect. Other than that, this book is garbage. Its authors present an apologist declaration in support of alienating parents, in the guise of supporting alienated children. Do yourself a favor. Avoid this book and read the books of Craig Childress instead.

Rather "dry" as this was written for clinicians (much like a textbook). However, as a lay-person needing to understand, it was quite useful.

Excellent program that every family court should have as a tool within their jurisdiction.

Awesome text!

I am a therapist working with children and families in high conflict divorce situations and working to reunify parents and children in these families. I found this book an invaluable resource. Not only does it give critical concrete interventions, it also includes tools for psycho-education (which may not always be intuitive) and points out the ways traditional family therapy may not succeed in mending parent/child relationships. It also highlights how the parent that children continue to see may unintentionally or intentionally contribute to the problem and offers ideas to assist in changing that behavior. A great resource for therapist and attorneys who deal with families in these situations.

I have attended an Overcoming BArriers Program and was not impressed. They did nothing for me and my estranged family other than reinforce their negative views and their expertise was not regarded as helpful in my case. I found the camp ultimately not helpful in the least. I have been asked to write reviews but feel as if they cull out all negative or not positive critiques and wish to only present hopeful scenarios. My concerns about the camp and its direction went unadressed. Little to no outreach post camp experience other than to write a review.

First, let me say that I have been shooting for a long time. Retired military and civilian competitive rifle shooter. But don't get me wrong, I am not saying that I know a better way. Because I don't...!! What I AM saying is that Linda Miller and Keith Cunningham got it right.I have just recently started shooting tactical precision. It is a new discipline for me and I realized that I needed some help ... especially with wind. I started researching and through a lot of reading and a lot of luck I found this book. Actually, I started with internet searches and found several articles and books that referenced this book. Because it appeared to be universally accepted, I decided to purchase it ... along with some others. I am sure happy that I did.!! This book is very well done. It is complete... at least as complete as is possible to be with a subject like WIND.! I have read most of the reviews on this book and will only say this..... No, this book is not about shooting "across the course". No, this book is not about "service rifle". No, this book is not about .22 rimfire. No, this book is not about air rifle at short distances. This book is about WIND... And the techniques that can be used to alleviate some of the mental strain or anguish associated with WIND when you are shooting a rifle in WIND. All of these techniques are useful for all shooters in all disciplines. After all, wind is wind. It affects projectiles as they move toward their intended target, and to a lesser degree (maybe..?) it also affects the shooter because of the action of the wind against the shooter's body. Now, granted, the material is presented (mostly..generally..??) from the stance of a "high-power" shooter at various distances. A lot of the anecdotal information is from "Palma" and "Bisley" style shooting where the authors have participated (as might be reasonably expected..). But the truth is .... all of this information can be useful, can be made to conform to your discipline with a little thought and extrapolation.I found the information to be comprehensive and very well thought through and presented. When speaking of wind flags, it is not so much about "use wind flags", but more about "HOW to use wind flags". And, WHY using two flags in two very distinct positions is so important. Not just any two flags, but two VERY SPECIFIC wind flags. When speaking of wind direction, it is not only about "wind value", but also about why a "fishtailing" wind that only varies twenty or thirty degrees can throw you WAY off your target. Normally twenty or thirty degrees of change will only cause a slight sight change (depending on wind strength..). But in two very distinct conditions that same fishtailing wind can wreak havoc.!! Linda Miller and Keith Cunningham know this..... And they impart that knowledge to the reader.This book is filled with such pearls of wisdom. It is complete with charts and explanations and solutions. Each chapter is documented with End Notes that give the reader additional references to material within that chapter. I have now read through this book twice, and will undoubtedly read it again. It is that good.I will recommend this book as the best treatment on this particular subject that I have been able to locate. It is a bit technical in spots, but the science behind the material requires it to be that way. If you want a good, precise background on WIND, this is one of the best books available. OTOH, if you don't like to read or you want someone to just tell you what to do, then this book may not be for you. It will require you to read and understand. But really, that's all... The information is there. It is up to you what you do with it.....

If you have one book for wind reading, this should be it. Whether your a novice or experienced wind shooter this book has something for you. It covers how to get wind speed and direction from flags, mirage, and natural phenomenon. The book also details methods for recording shots and improving your shooting and thus your wind reading skills. If your not a consistent shooter, you'll never know if the wind caused your bullet to move or if you did.I don't understand the negative reviews for this book, whatever you shoot, if you want to be accurate you have to read the wind. Fact, can't argue with that. This book tells you how to read the wind. It does not give ballistics data for hundreds of different rounds or tell you what to do with your rim fire. That is not the purpose of the book, the purpose of the book is to instruct you in how to determine wind speed and direction which it does extremely well. There are all kinds of free ballistics programs out there for your specific round.This book also outlines various strategies for dealing with wind in competition. I am not a competition shooter, but I still found the information interesting.The reviewer who said this book is worthless must have something against the authors or Canadians in general. The methods used in this book are also the same methods used in numerous magazine articles and sniper manuals that I have read, from the Army's to the Marines to various civilian books. This book simply puts everything together in a more comprehensive and easier to understand fashion.In my opinion this is the best book for learning to read wind speed and direction.

As a local competitive shooter some former Olympians and reading Boyer's book taught me about using 22LR in the wind. Having competed in 30 MPH (yes, 30 MPH) winds with 22LR at 100 yards it was demonstrated by the wind I'd better do some more learning. This book consolidated much of what I'd been taught, learned through practice, and taught me some new ways to look at wind such as using mirage. There is a little redundancy in the book, such as mentioning the bullet slows continually after leaving the muzzle, that in my opinion could have been avoided however there is an argument, which the authors may have had, for reinforcing concepts the three or four or five times this is done.

The Wind Book for Rifle Shooters is an excellent resource. As far as I know this is the only book of its type. It's very well written in a way that's easy to understand for such a complex subject. The charts and graphs are extremely helpful. It's a bit on the short side at about 125 pages but still packed with knowledge. The information contained within this book are not just opinions but tried and true facts. Much of the same information in this text is taught in various sniper training courses that I have attended. This book can make life much simpler for snipers or long distance competition shooters. The wind can be your worst enemy if you don't understand its effect on a bullet in travel. You need this book.

The less positive reviews for this book complain that it is for beginners. I found it more comprehensive than that. Not only are the authors champions, but they also quote and excerpt works from many other champion shooters. Their "Words of Wisdom" chapter alone has comprehensive tips from 18 champions and hall of fame shooters Before reading this book, I went from shooting 0.94 MOA ATC at 200 yards in a consistent breeze to 0.47 MOA ACT at 300 yards in a fishtailing wind.

Great book! Never realized how much the wind can effect the bullet coming out of the barrel. Been trying to read all I can on long range shooting and I can't think there would be any other books as informative as this one. Any serious distance shooter should own this book! It

Former textbooks we've used were almost cartoonish and went along with the aforementioned perceptions.In Sports Media, Schultz makes it a point to educate without fluff. Absent from this book are long biographies about famous sports broadcasters that can be found on the Internet, and it it's place is dedication to the Internet itself as a sports medium.The first chapters discuss Reporting and the difference in how to do it between Print and Broadcast as well as the Internet. Then the book goes into the Visualizaton of sports. I purchased this Bible as a gift for my elderly aunt that’s in a nursing home after someone stole hers from her room. She’s very religious and missed having the Bible for comfort. I ordered this particular Bible because it had very large print and was King James, her preferred version. It was so pretty! The cover is very soft and the fact that it lays flat makes is easier for her to read. The words are very big so it’s comfortable on your eyes while reading. I’m thinking about getting a pink one for myself if there’s a NIV as I find the KJV a little difficult to understand. The look on my aunts face was worth every penny!

I bought this Bible for my husband after I bought the My Creative Bible for myself. He was very happy with it and likes the turquoise colors and feel. The cover has a very nice leather with textured flowers and leaves. It has a dark blue ribbon. Two would have been nice. The text is big which is very nice. The words of Christ are in red. It has nice maps in the back and a year reading plan. I also like the silver on the edge of the pages. It would have been nice if the chapters had titles for when scenes change. The only reason this is getting four stars is the pronouns for God and Jesus are not capitalized. He, Him and His. This makes reading confusing at times and capitalizing these is a sign of respect the way God, Spirit and Lord are capitalized. Hopefully this will be fixed in future printings. Other than that we are very impressed. I may have to get a second copy of this.

I got this bibile yesterday. I am satisfied with this bible. " All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works". Timonthy 3:16-17

Daughter loves it but i am concerned about the thin pages for a child. The words are nice and big. It has no headings for the scriptures which would have been great. The words of Jesus are in red. And the cover is a little too thin. I expected more from this bible but it's workable. It's still not bad

I am very happy with this bible it is very beautiful, i love the fact that it has larger print which makes it so much easier to read.

Others complain about the thin paper and the read thru, but the type is set so that it's not an issue (between the lines). Nice color actually, pseudo leather works fine for me. It would be nice to have the cross references in the margins, etc. but for $20 this is great.

I love this book. I first read it when I was 8, living in Connecticut, with family friends who lived in downstate New York, where the Catskills begin. I always wanted to find a quiet hillside on which to live, as long as I could find a library nearby to keep me company. I read this book to all of my children, and they in turn re-read it when they were just a bit older. It's for that little bit of longing to escape from the world that visits nearly everyone from time to time.

I got this for my 11 yo son because they were going to read the first book for his 5th grade class and he loved it so much he wanted more and his own copy! Less then 3 weeks later he had finished the entire set:) So if you have a kid that you want to get into reading that likes the out doors this is the book set for them! I am going to barrow it to re read it because it has been a few years.

I read this book aloud to my children. They absolutely loved it, and so did I. Ms. George obviously enjoyed exploring all of the survival concepts she could think of, and she did a fine job telling the "story" of the possibilities in each situation. This is a teaching book, which is why it will always be a classic. It not only teaches survival concepts, but also responsibility and courageous stewardship.

Although this book is intended for young adults, I decided to get it even though I'm in my 50s. I'd read it when I was young and really enjoyed it. I kind of half expected to be disappointed....often things I liked as a youngster seem pretty lame now. This book, however, was still good. Some parts were a little, "Oh, yeah, right," but was mostly realistic. Would recommend it to anyone of any age.

I first read this book at school as an 8 year old. I never forgot the book "My side of the Mountain" or the name of the author. I still have my original copy, and to see it here for sale I had to have it. This book triggers the imagination, It boldly explores a boys desire for being in touch with nature and a simple life. This is a book everyone should read.

This is one of my favorite children's books. It is a throwback to a different time when vocabulary was rich and peppered the pages of children's literature. It is an excellent story of man and nature and ever so readable. Please, PLEASE buy this for your children and read it with them. Share with them a time when education was vastly more important and appreciated than today.

This was my favorite book as a child! My second grade teacher read this to us as part of reading class. She only read a chapter a day, so on a Friday,{ I couldn't wait until Monday}, I went to the library and checked the book out, and finished it over the weekend. To this day i can't understand why my teacher was so angry when i admitted this to her. Anyway, i bought this to read it to my granddaughter, and i hope she enjoys it as much as i did.

I read My Side of the Mountain when I was in junior high school, and I wanted to get this book for my son. I read it before I gave it to him, and I couldn't put it down. Each night I read one of the the trilogy and I remembered why I loved it so much as a kid. My son is in 2nd grade and now he is reading it too. He is young, but reads non stop so a novel isn't too much for him. I am so glad I finally own this book, it's a great book to turn kids onto reading, and it is a great book for all ages.

If you have boys between six and ten, you can't go wrong with this book. My boys are six and I took great pleasure in reading it to them. When my boys are ten, I have no doubt they'll take great pleasure reading it themselves.Lots of terrifi descriptions about something every young kid thinks about at least once (running away). Very, very well imagined and executed.Recommended without reservation.
