This is a review for the actualContent, not the used book seller. This book is not a great option for learning a language from the ground up. In my experience, learning a language is best some the way students learn Latin (or used to): grammar must be introduced, practiced and built upon. This book introduces grammar concepts too quickly with minimal Practice and then throws exercises at the student which contain all kinds of concepts the student has never learned. The book is too thin and does not contain enough practices or review(Even with the workbook and audio files). I do not recommend this book at all and If you're signing up for a class that uses it be sure you are aware that the book will be a hindrance and not a help.

This book is great for anyone who is just starting to learn German. It is up to date and has a lot of great examples. It takes you through the language teaching you to converse with others giving you easy to do assisgnments that you can do with a partner. If you are just starting out you might want to order the teachers edition so you have the anwsers to the assisgnments.

This book is clearly meant to be used in class with a teacher. I bought it to learn on my own in conjunction with online lessons because I like to have a book to refer to. This book has very little to no actual grammar explanation. There are some basic outlines for congregation and definitions, but no actual grammar instruction. It is mostly exercises that are meant to be done after instruction from a teacher. This would probably be fine if I were taking a class, but this is worthless for learning on your own. However, it was so cheap that it is not worth even sending back.

this is a good book for a starter in the German language. I use it in our home-school lessons and it works well.

The issue I have with these texts, is that it does not include the english translated words. One must, decipher by context (if it can be, and not always can it) but also, try to determine the pronunciation, which it does not provide a pronunciation for the words...there is not phonetics in the text anywhere...it's useless...one would REQUIRE a teacher or German speaking instructor to use this text to learn German.

Doesn't actually teach you lessons. Rather, it just suddenly asks you to answer questions assuming that your teacher will fill in the blanks. Really annoying.

As usual Lorraine Snelling has written an excellent book. I’m caught up in the culture of the time and the description of the train travel , the work load of the men and women and the family interaction. I’ve lived in Montana and experience the same type of extreme cold. They had to have so much courage. Thanks fot the great book'

I have enjoyed all four books of the Dakotah series so much and "Amethyst" wrapped the series up in a nice bundle of continued page turning reading. If you havent read the series, trust me you will treat yourself to good reading as you find yourself living with the characters and their adventures in the badlands of the Dakotah's.. I am not going to relate the story here, it is too good and I wouldnt give it justice with a few words. Thank you Ms.Snelling.

I love historical romance novel, The two books have it all, romance, excitement, honor, and love of each other. The women stand up for what they believe and don't let men get in the way of what they want to do. Even in the harsh and dangerous place as the Dakotahs, starting a new life with nothing but just a few pennies in order to fulfill a promise to themselves, to find a new life worth living. I give Amazion a thumbs up for having the most well written books whether on Kindle or paper backs. I may be up in years but still love to read about what use to be. I still remember the hard times in the 30's and survived. I can relate to their struggle to build a home out of nothing.

These books build on each other,yet keep the momentum going. I’ve read each book in the series about once a year & don’t tire of this extended family, which grows in diversity, experience & faith.

The only problem I have with this book , is that it is the last in the series. I have cone to love the "treasures" as their lives and loves unfolded. My heart feels the story could possibly continue with Joel and possibly Ada Mae in the next generation. 'Ms Snelling writes a compelling story. Certainly will become a favorite author.

I ordered this book because It was the last one of a series of four.The other three I ordered on my kindle,but this one was unavilable on the kindle. This book along with the other three were great its the kind you have to keep reading you dont want to sit down. I do recommend having the whole series before you start reading, for it is fast pace as soon as you finish one you want the next one to start. Not stop and wait to order the next one.I really enjoyed this set by Lauraine Snelling and others.

I'm not the biggest fan of Christian literature but these were a good read. Some interesting insights into early American prairie settling and history. It's good to be reminded of what earlier generations built for us, and to be reminded that the women were strong and resourceful as well.

The book was a great western, it was a page turner !

These lessons have helped my understanding and comprehension of the universe, hitherto obscured by Newtonian Linear perspectives.

Awesome book. After just reading the first chapter i could totally resonate with what was written. I am currently on the 7th chapter and had to re-read a few chapters to get a better understanding ot the the subtlety of life experiences I experience daily. I will definitely need to re-read the book for better clarification of life experiences in the midst of everyday chaos.

Great read

Read this for a class. It's a bit dated overall and insightful read.

My experience with chaos theory has been in the math world. I was disappointed that the author does not allow that math and art have a similar connection through chaos. Lots of information to think about though.

When life is pulling you in a certain direction, yield a little to the current. You might be amazed at what you find. The key is, it doesn't pay to fight the universe. Absorb the chaos theory as put forth by this book and it can change your life or, at the very least, your way of thinking.

A lot of our problems in this world come from rigid, black and white thinking. This book helps us to see both the simplicity and the complexity in life, and to open our minds to all that is around us.
