For those familiar with Zoro's books, you get a very similar package, and that is good thing. You get a great history of the groove, lots of transcribed examples, technical exercises, and a helpful CD as well. As a long time electronic music producer, this book gave me some incredible insights into both what I was doing while programming drum patters, and how to improve them. The way the book addresses a dual-audience (live drummers and programmers/producers/"finger drummers") is novel and very well executed, and the examples are not only clearly explained, but end up presenting a great discography as well. Of all the books on technique and production in my library, this might be the one I think is most valuable and has the most information one can't get easily just by looking online. Absolutely a good purchase.

Fantastic book that walks you through the fundamentals ("elements" as the author calls them) of the breakbeat style, and includes numerous examples of classic beats together with recordings. The history lessons and biographies of the genre's key players are alone worth the price of admission. I have to point out, many of the exercises may seem simple, and my 21-year old self would probably have said "Why am I wasting my time on this junior high-level crap? I need to be learning Virgil Donati licks!" My older and wiser self understands the importance of taking an elementary approach, truly understanding the style, and executing its components with precision and with the right feel. Use a click, humble yourself, start slow and really get the exercises down perfectly and make them really groove. It is harder than it looks. Excellent, excellent, excellent!

Love the grooves in this book.It really makes practicing fun when you are learning cool grooves. I got tired of practicing from books that have tons of beats that you would never use or enjoy playing; that is not the case here. Great format and grooves.

As so many others have said, this book is the best, truly the bible! I love the history, love the elements, love the exercises, love the 8 bar phrases. My only concern is will the binding hold up to so much use, as you will use every page of this book. Just get it!

A must have for drummers of all levels. I really came to appreciate the genius of Dave Garibaldi among many many others who form the foundation for funk, rock, hip hop, R n B, rhythms.

If you're a hip-hop head and/or any drummer interested in hip-hop, funk, and other breakbeat-based music look no further! This is an extremely impressive and comprehesive work by Mike Adamo. Beginner to advanced drummers, your groove without a doubt will become tighter and funkier by playing the exercises in this awesome book. The transcriptions section of classic breaks from James Brown to The Meters and contemporary breaks from J Dilla's production on the Pharcyde's "Runnin" to ?uestlove's breakbeat outro on The Roots' "You Got Me" are worth the price of the book alone. I was kicking myself for not buying this book sooner--don't sleep!

This book is so comprehensive. The beats are DOPE. It does a great job of keeping you engaged and feeling like you really accomplished learning to play some dope beats. I would definitely recommend it for anyone who loves breakbeats, funk, and hiphop

What a delightful book! The purpose is laid up right at the outset (Page 5): "One of America's most popular pastimes is, quite simply, going for long, leisurely drives in the country--and that's what this book is all about." Through this volume, we see 120 separate trips, each described in enough detail (normally 2-4 pages with a map) to decide if that tour might make sense to you.Let's look at a few examples. One from my own experience--many years ago--is California's Big Sur Coast (pages 74-77). The trip starts at Monterey, goes on to Carmel-by-the-Sea to Big Sur (what a view from the highway, as I recall!) to San Simeon and the Hearst Castle, ending in San Luis Obispo.I'm from Illinois, and there is precious little here from my home state! One is a trip from Galena to Port Byron; the other is a drive through the Shawnee Hills National Forest.I also lived in Western New York for many years. This tour ends at Niagara Falls, one of my favorite spots. The tour starts at the Eisenhower Lock along the Saint Lawrence River and winds through Ogdensburg (with its wonderful Remington Art Museum) to Thousand Island and on to Rochester and Old Fort Niagara with an end in Niagara Falls. I have seen many of these sites and can attest to the delight I would experience if I traveled the full length of this route.In the end, a delightful book to read and to provoke the imagination as to what the various trips would be like.

We have used and loved the Reader's Digests' "Most Scenic Drives in America" for several editions now, and decided to purchase the latest edition in an e-reader format, for ease of use. I expected the e-edition to be somewhat clunky, given that the book has lots of maps and pictures, but it I did not expect it to be virtually useless -- which it is. The absence of a table of contents makes it virtually impossible to use for trip planning. If, for example, you wanted to see what was available in Arkansas, you would either have to search the word "Arkansas", you get 29 hits, several of which have nothing to do with travelling in the state. For the first two sections -- the West and the Rocky Mountains -- there are regional lists of drives, but I could not find these for the rest of the regions.Anyone who is planning a road trip in the US should certainly own this book -- it's been a great help to us in planning trips, and has helped build many beautiful memories. Definitely, a five star effort. JUST DON'T BUY THE EBOOK.

While it's true that a table of contents or an index is missing from the Kindle implementation, it's still a great book. Instead of the missing content table, it has 4 regional route overviews (West, Rockies, Central, Eastern) inside the book. The usability can be greatly improved by going through the book and adding bookmarks at all 4 region overviews, which cost me less than 15 minutes.

Big, beautiful, coffee-table book with great drives and detailed maps. However, I can't imagine taking it on a driving trip because it is very large and heavy. The maps are too big to copy on a regular-size sheet of paper. So, unfortunately, I returned the book in favor of a smaller one.

This edition is defective and i hope the editors read this review and fix it, because if they do it will be a great book:The problem with this kindle edition is they have mixed some states in their central states region map and content and in the eastern states map and content resulting that all those roads in those states have mixed numbers that do not coincide with the roads description:The states that show repeated in both regions are:IN, OH, KY, TN, MS, AL and MS. All of those have wrong roads description numbers and you can not find the road trip by the number, sometimes you can just not find it at all. You will have to spent an incredible amount of time figuring out which on it is making it unusable. When you are busy on the road you will not have the time to figure those things out. I did not have the time to check the rest of the book to see if there are more errors or try more regions. I had to return it.Hopefully this gets fixed by the editors because this book is expensive compared with similar great books like the "National Geographic guide to Scenic Highways and Byways": I have that too and is greatly useful with no errors.

I've taken 4 of these drives and they were well worth the price of this book. Sure you can find recommendations on the internet for free, but Reader's Digest calls upon tried and true routes. They give you a good idea of where you want to go and as I was driving through the areas, I'd have someone read the description. That really added to the drive.I know you may be hesitant, but I'd say go ahead and buy this book and read about the drive as you're experiencing it. It's worth the money.

This particular book I purchased as a gift for my grandson. I own my own copy and have used it for numerous trips that are included in the book. It is very helpful; takes you on road that are "off the beaten path" and shows you a great part of the country that doesn't get seen when driving the interstates.

I sent this as a Christmas gift last year to some family members who are starting to plan road trips with their grandkids. They've traveled all over the world (including US) and they truly loved this. What steered me towards it were the reviews, and I'll just add mine. Also, they're under strict instructions to let me know if they don't like something, lol. This is a 2nd hand review, but still legit!

I'm going to be honest, I haven't read more than two pages but the shady author names and the improper grammar on the title page are enough for me to delete this "free" book out of annoyance at my own distracted decision to download it.

This book lived up to my expectations and I've read a lot of simple living/minimalism books. Zoe does a great job of walking you through each area of your home and how you can declutter and simplify. There are tons of practical tips that are doable and relevant for todays' families. While it is a book about families, it can just as easily apply to someone single or a a couple. The tips on doing this with kids though is very helpful. highly recommend if you're looking for help to declutter and simplify.

Through this book, I became acquainted with the concept of minimalism and the basics of applying it in all areas of life. I understood the importance of cleansing my living space. Tips for creating a minimalist lifestyle help change and refine your thinking. It was also important for me that there are recommendations for instilling minimalism to all family members and children in particular.

This book went room by room applying the same basic technique to declutter. I have already gone through my house and so it was too basic and too redundant for me. I am well down the road to minimizing so The Minimalist Home just didn't fit where I am now. A beginner might like it though. If you are farther along the process

It was helpful to get me started. A little la-de-da in spots but you just roll your eyes and take from it what you can use. Within several days I had gotten rid of 13 bags of stuff from my bedroom and I have been dilligent about not bringing new things in.

This book is way better than the previous editions. It explains​ thoroughly and it has questions and answers on how you suppose to ask the patient and how the patient is going to answer. It is really helpful if you have someone to practice with.

Very helpful book for the preparation of step 2 cs. Some of the questions that should be asked are very specific and by no chance I would have asked them without reading the book. Don`t forget to read the mini cases as they give you all you need to know for differential diagnosis. I also practiced with live and online study partners using this book and passed with high performance in all parts as an IMG. Good luck to everyone!

This book was probably overkill for the COMLEX PE, but I read through it quickly in addition to using the COMBANK PE videos by Dr. Kauffman. This book provides examples of the most common differentials, as well as some rare zebras that the USMLE tests but probably not the COMLEX.

Good book.. probably the best one you can buy for CS .. the cases in the back they tend to stretch on their differentials and the patient responses aren't the most realistic come test day.. but the book is good enough to pass

I love how they have organized this book! I would practice the cases by reading the questions, writing a practice note using the USMLE practice template online, then compare how my note came out from the one written in the book. Fantastic resource for CS!!

I've gleaned so much useful information from various green witch books over the years. But being a spiritual agnostic, I've struggled to relate to much of what's written around ritual and deities in those books. This book is like a breath of fresh air. Arin's message is very inclusive and can be embraced easily by those that don't necessarily relate to the Wiccan spiritual path, but feel drawn to a deeper more magical connection with nature.

I got this mainly cause the cover art. Its very beautiful and has a nice burlap texture. The book is also a wonderful read. Its very nondirected to any culture religion or tradition. Rather just a way to incorporate the power of plants in your daily routine. Its a great guide for fun things like making your own broom, incense, perfumes and medicines. It also has great practical spells and rituals they are very “down to earth”. (literally!)

Love this book! The way it written will have you feeling relaxed and ready to attune yourself with nature. Really like that it is not religion based. Love the chapters on herbal preparation and the appendices so you can educate yourself on common herbs and their uses. So easy to understand as well!

I enjoy reading this so far( got two, to give my mom one on mother’s day) It’s a beautiful book with lots of knowledge for the first time nature lover, earth conscious person, green witch or natural remedy healer, as well as the longtime experienced person. A book w/o religious presence, which I don’t mind if it did have it , but with so many diff types and views it’s nice that,,just the green witch ways are applied and talked about in a humanitarian, earth loving way. 👌🤓🌞🌵🌿🌺☮️Def recommend for a great read as well as a beautiful good priced HARD BACK book to sit around, w the cover being so lovely. I love the look, feel, and content of this book but it doesn’t go very deep. A lot of time is spent on meditating on soil, plants, crystals, etc. where I feel the space could have been better devoted to recipes or something more practical.

my favorite aspect of this book is that it is not about religion. it is about nature magick and craft. you can be of any religion to practice green witch craft. Excellent book.

This was a very enjoyable book! The author did an excellent job of describing each recipe and going into detail about all the different energies, as well as offering many different ways to accomplish your goals even if you live in a high rise apartment in the city. I also enjoyed the fact that she stressed safety and respect, something some other books of the same I have read simply do not do.It is easy to ready, well thought out, and it has me excited to try everything from making my own broom to making infused sugar and herbal bread! Whether you pursue the path of the green witch or simply enjoy growing herbs and making your own vinegar, this book should be a definite addition to your library!

Absolutely fantastic, this is the type of book that you have to read again and again to get a better understanding of it so you may apply it to your life and better yourself. The correspondence and spells are really nice, and over all the book just feels harmonious..I honestly have no other way to describe it, I read this book and I just feel at peace.

Michael T. Murray has researched candidiasis thoroughly, and written an easy to understand book. This book contains everything you have ever wanted to know (and more) that your doctor will most likely never tell you. Most doctors like to hand out pills as a fix to everything, but not Dr. Murray. He is truly concerned with health, well-being, and prevention. I know first-hand because I actually went to one of his educational seminars (which was free). He is so down to earth. This book has easy to follow plans that will help the body rid itself of candida and become healthy again. I trust what this book says because these are the same things my Holistic Physician has given me to treat my candida. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn more about candida/yeast/candidiasis or feels sick all the time and their doctor can't find a cause. The comprehensive inside will help you figure out what may be causing your ills and lead you to better health.

I just finished reading this book - all in one sitting! It is very easy to read. Very well organized chapters, with a summary at the end of each chapter. A lot of helpful information, not only for Candida sufferers, but for anyone wanting to maintain good health with the right vitamins/minerals and herbs. This is exactly the type of book I was looking for! I'm excited to try his method for eradicating my yeast condition! I have already learned that sugar is the food for yeast, and have removed that from my diet over the past month. I already notice a difference! And, I've been fighting chronic yeast infections for several years. I'm ready to be well, and I really believe that this book has all the information I need.

After months of doctor appointments, I was finally diagnosed with Candida. I knew nothing about candidiasis and so I started searching the web for information. I found so much varying information and most of it I didn't trust. When I found this book (...), I knew it was right. This book contains the most comprehensive, easy to understand information that I've found. The author is very thorough without going into overwhelming detail. I started following the diet and techniques almost immediately since the book gets right into problem solving. I can say my health has improved almost 100% in a very short time.

Somewhat Helpful

There are probably thousands of book about Candida on the market. For whatever reason, I chose this one. It's sadly lacking in information all of which I later found on the Internet for free. For one, it doesn't offer a suggested protocol (series of steps) to follow for the diet. For another, it doesn't offer any recommendations on dosages for the nonprescription anti-fungals. And it doesn't really go into any depth about die-off and the need to take Molybdenum prior to starting an anti-Candida regimen.

this book really helped me understand what was going on with my body. I recommend to anyone struggling with yeast issues.

Like many people who purchase these types of books, I have read and collected quite a few resources about digestive health. The information presented in this book does not seem to align with current knowledge of candida and other digestive ailments, but it's ok as a general reference (with semi-useful recommendations regarding an introductory fast, supplements, etc.). However, if you are looking for a solution for your candida troubles, there are a lot more useful resources online (i.e., whole foods approach provides good reference materials) and more evidence-based books that will be more helpful (i.e., Breaking the Vicious Cycle by Elaine Gottschal).
