I reviewed this book due to it being used as part of a process. I will say there are some good aspects to this opinionated book, however that’s exactly what it is, opinionated. For almost every prep test question there are two correct answers, both of which are correct. If a test is made from this book, I can guarantee there will be confusion as far as how things are actually done, compared to this person’s opinion on how things “could†be done. However this is a good book as far as basic line supervisor ideas.
With the sample test with Inn the booklet, it enables those were going to take the test that much better of a chance see how they will do on a practice test.
I bought this book to get in front of the types of questions I could possibly encounter on my Sgt examination. After reading the book cover to cover and utilizing the strategies and best practices recommended, I often found myself questioning what I had just read, or how to properly eliminate answers with any sort accuracy. It should be noted that the authors often employ overly complicated descriptions to concepts and situations that could be explained very easily via simple explanations. In addition, the practice tests were worded so poorly, that I often had to re-read the question multiple times just to figure out what the question was actually asking me....The answers in the test keys often do not provide ample explanation, and the strategies behind the correct answers are completely random and without structure. Again, this was a complete disregard to the strategies outlined in Chapter 2. Overall, if this book was designed to prepare you for the worlds most confusing test questions, it'd be a 5-star recommendation.
